I don't have any singles in my collection, but the way I'd do it is the same as MeSue. Think up a name such as "Singles", place the real album name into the Comments field, and then you'll have a "Singles" album listed for each artist that has one or more singles. There will still be some clutter, as wherever you have artists with only one single, you'll see that fake album listed. And any artists that have just one or two tracks will show up in your artists list.
Two things to consider: - Instead of using the comments field, I'd make up a tag name for the place where you store the real album name. Something like ALBUM1 or ALBUMREAL. Then you can use a tagging program like Mp3tag to automate the move of ALBUM -> ALBUMREAL on all your singles without wiping out your comments. And, if at a later date you decide to put them all back the way they were, it's just as easy. - Consider the name you'll use for the album.
