I'm not sure why you are worried about reripping. Your original post says you're looking for FLAC->M3A conversion, which I assume means all your rips are in FLAC right now? So you can use the FLACs for the squeezebox and just convert them all to something else for other devices which don't like FLAC (such as an ipod). If you really want to use lossless with the ipod the only sensible choice is ALAC, but to be honest I'd be amazed if you can tell the difference without (or even with) several hundred $$'s worth of earphones. I use Shure E3C on a Rio Karma and I can't distinguish FLAC (lossless) from Vorbis (lossy) although it's easy to tell from the Squeezebox on my main hifi.
