Thanks Josh. The good news is that 1.1.3 beta 2 encodes it perfectly, so any bug in the experimental "1.1.2.1" hasn't been carried over to 1.1.3.
I guess the encoder didn't crash per se, it hung at 100% and never finished. It played OK in foobar with the aforementioned seeking delay and it sounded OK - foobar popped up a stream error at the very end, consistent with the flac -t result of a stream end error at 98%. I'm arranging to see whether you still need to see the file, since 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 beta 2 are fine with it.
