Well, I don't know if this is my computer, iTunes encoding, or what,
but I frequently order CD's delivered to me at work. I rip them using
iTunes to MP3 on my computer here, and then do a careful rip when I get
home.

Frequently, I've gotten bursts of static in some songs that I've ripped
using iTunes. Never get anything when I encode at home using cdparanoia
and FLAC/LAME.

Like I said, no idea if it's my computer, my DVD drives here, the
iTunes MP3 encoder, or what. But I have seen iTunes give me badish
rips.
