YES. Investigate http://www.musicbrainz.org. They maintain a music metadata database that is user-powered, and Bootleg is a release type. To actually tag the files (and optionally rename them), you can use the Picard tagger that they make (http://musicbrainz.org/doc/PicardTagger) or the MusicIP Mixer(http://www.musicip.com/mixer/index.jsp), which recently added MusicBrainz integration. Both are multi-platform. The best thing: if the information ISN'T in MusicBrainz, you can contribute to the database by adding the data yourself. Then the next person with those FLACS won't have to enter the stuff. It is awesome. I don't have loads of audience recordings, but for instance the Phish stuff that I have was all in there and is now appropriately tagged and available through SlimServer. -- thing-fish [image: http://imagegen.last.fm/3line/recenttracks/thing-fish.gif] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ thing-fish's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5288 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28932 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
