Thanks for your help.

I'm running v2.36a of mp3tag and multiple genres show up as
<genre1>\\<genre2>\\<genre3> in the left-hand pane.  If I select the
extended tag view for a file the GENRE tags are shown up as seperate
tags i.e. GENRE=<genre1> etc..
