Plextor and Pioneer are typically rated fairly high. Anything capable of
doing DAE (pretty much anything new) is going to pull every bit off your
CD. 

For Windows I'd recommend AudioGrabber with LAME since it's easy enough
to get a Grip on and can do MD5sums of your tracks. No need to confuse
yourself with EAC.

For the linux/other unix world, I prefer GRIP. Should you go that route
I'd give you my grip .config files for maximum rip/encode quality in MP3
format. (VBR - q 0 V 0)
