Thanks very much MrC but you just went way over my skill level. I'm technically savy and in the tech industry but this sort of base level programming is not my area of expertise.
I like to see the compression box and I had it set that way before the hard drive failed. I'm missing something more basic than that. Either I've got the wrong type of .flac installed, have it installed in the wrong directory or I'm not sending the correct data to .flac from EAC to make it run. Parallel to this I'm trying to come up to speed on proper naming schemes. All the discs I loaded last x-mas are screwed up. Apparently my copy and past from one of the setup web sites didn't take correctly. The learning curve seems to be quite steep on this.
