A bit more information in case anyone can shed any light. It appears that the click only occurs at the beginning of the m4a format tracks and not with those in flac format.
The m4a I purchased from ITunes and converted from m4p using QTFairUse6. I am using SS version 6.2.2 running on a QNap TS-101 with a firmware version of 1.2.1 Build 0822T. I am a little reluctant to upgrade to SS 6.5 after reading some of the threads here.
