Thanks for the kind comments guys. I just wrote something that scratched my own particular itch, but I figured that others would find it useful too. For example, I knew that I didn't want to have to restart the whole transcoding process from the beginning if I hit a problem with one tack halfway through. I also knew that my flac tags were not 100% so I would be changing them and I wanted those changes to be applied the the mp3 files without having to transcode again. Anyway, glad you find it useful.
