I have read the threads and followed advice, spent days playing and
can't find a way to get what I see as one of the most important aspects
of SLIM and digital music to work.
Important because I (alongside the 95% of population who do not know
what a command line is) want to browse by images and loved the tactile
quality of vinyl/cd covers. Hence we would like to print out a listing
or booklet with pictures and names to browse by. You can hand it to a
friend or partner and they can choose music by picture rather than
words. In fact nowe I have ripped everything and stored cds in a box
this is the last resort or she who must be obeyed is giving up on our
music collection. To actually play music Slim is the best; but as to
the rest!!!!
All I want to do is;
-get the correct images in the flac tag files. This I do well (I use
Tag&Rename and Albumn Art Downloader although the latter has got flaky
in latest release). It works if you have a collection of Robbie and
John Jackson but forget it if you have anything non mainstream. For 400
albums this has taken we 4-5 man days!
-It can be told to write %artist - %album.jpg but also puts in
.folder.png and folder.png etc etc.
-Fine but when I used an image database to collect everything from my
music folder to print out as thumbnails it also collects the .png and
all the folder.jpg files, so 3 images of everything. So I deleted all
the 'unneccessary'images and then found that the wonderful java script
that parses names and wites a pdf actually searches for the folder.jpg.
As does Slim. OOOPS. So another 3 days with Album Art Downloader.

I think this must be one of the most frustrating issues but easiest for
a decent programmer to resolve. Help!!!
