man, i dont know what i'm doing wrong.
just to get the network drive out of the equation (and linux blah
blah), i setup two new folders:

c:/test/flac
c:/test/mp3

from DOS i run:

flac2mp3.pl c:\test\flac c:\test\mp3

STILL same error. its just the 'usage' (same thing that shows if you
just type 'flac2mp3.pl'. so its not the J: drive or slash direction or
anything. It's running flac2mp3.pl fine, since i'm getting the USAGE:
message...but...nothin.

also, the only lines i changed in flac2mp3.pl (with wordpad) are:

our $flaccmd = 'c:\Program Files\FLAC\flac.exe';
our $lamecmd = 'c:\utils\lame3.97\lame.exe';

both those files are in those directories....i tried it with and
without "quotes" around the directories (when typing the DOS
commandline).

any other suggestions Robin or others? its gotta be something
obvious....
