Unless you want to keep the RG data, but if the APE files contain
artist/album/genre data then they may conflict with the ID3 tags...

It would be easier to delete all APE tags and, if you want RG, analyze
all the files with MP3Gain.  This way you'll be sure any non-RG data is
gone and all that's left is the RG data.  The RG processing will take a
little time but requires no effort.
