Looks like Album aggegator uses cover.jpg as its default. Not sure if it can be changed. I'm no techie so I'm not comfortable editing as you suggest. I'll look for other alternatives.
BTW, Album Aggregator found almost 700 album covers in about 15 minutes from Amazon with one click.
