Another nice gadget is the (free) dbpoweramp Explorer extension. Mouseover a supported audio file and it displays all of the tags. Configurable too, so you can choose what you want to see, such as file duration, encoder version, etc.
Few tools can be used for debugging, though, as most tend to map format-specific tag/comment name to their more common names.
