Usually the freedb is accurate enough (no better or > worse than AllMusic.com in my experience) so that all you need to do is > proofread it and make a few corrections before ripping.
"if the application warranted it" are the key words. If it was merely tagging I wouldn't bother and I absolutely agree freedb et al. do a decent enough job. The reason I've used allmusic is their additional metadata. Hopefully at some point somebody will harness their Tapestry functionality in a end-user context and this will make for amazing playlisting. If a commercial application doesn't emerge I will eventually write my own to utilise the metadata for playlisting and interfacing with slimserver. -- egd Thecus N5200PRO >> Transporter >> ATC SCA2 >> ATC SCM100SLAT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ egd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3425 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37707 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
