I've got a music collection that, for historical reasons, is a mix of
WMA lossy (64-96kbps), WMA lossless and FLAC. I'd like to convert all
of it to FLAC and/or mp3 using the following criteria:

if WMA lossless transcode to:
FLAC if rating tag is 4 or 5
mp3 if rating tag is 3 or less
FLAC if rating tag not present
if WMA lossy re-rip:
FLAC if rating tag is 4 or 5
mp3 if rating tag is 3 or less
FLAC if rating tag not present

Ideally, I'd like the process to be totally automated, e.g. after going
through all the WMA lossless files, I would be prompted to get CD 'X'
and put that in the drive, and then it would be ripped, converted and
any custom tag information from the original files added (possibly with
a preview).

And if it automatically updated the slimserver database with the new
filename, that would be perfect.

Any idea where to start? I can handle a solution that runs on Windows,
OS X or Linux, open source or commercial, and if it took a bunch of
scripts to string together a few existing apps that do parts of the
process that would be fine also.

Thanks.

Colin
