Thanks for the suggestion. Tag, which is nice, does not see/manipulate cue sheets. I also have too many files to rescan. But the cure is to use metaflac to remove the cue sheet, and then have slimserver do a rescan. The command is: metaflac --remove --block-type=CUESHEET file.flac
I downloaded the flac osx install from the flac site on sourceforge and fyi it puts flac and metaflac in /usr/local/bin Now, I just need to figure out a script to remove them from all my music...
