I thought it did, but I've spotted 2 occasions in my collection of 22k songs where it doesn't. Now, I know it's a low failure rate but they have just been spotted manually so more may exist.
It would seem that ID3v1 has precedence over ID3v2. I've come to this conclusion because re-tagging the affected files does not seem make any difference (I use Tag&Rename). When looking at the binary content of these mp3s, artist, album, track information is visible both at the beginning and the end of the file. The set at the beginning is correct and the one at the end is wrong but is the one that SlimServer seems to be using.
