I briefly ran 1.2.0 - I can't remember if there was an encoding speed increase or a compression increase. I believe there were no problems with SS or the SB.
The problem I had was related to Ubuntu Linux - I updated the FLAC encoder but the libraries were for earlier versions. I could encode files and play them back but I couldn't do anything else - all tests (flac -t) would fail, and I couldn't encode anything higher than 16/44.1. Josh warned about this. However I was able to update from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 without any problems. Ubuntu 7.04 uses 1.1.2 by default. The new Ubuntu 7.10 uses 1.1.4. -- Mark Lanctot 'Sean Adams' Response-O-Matic checklist, patent pending!'
