Yes and no, Robin. Over year ago you updated Tag.pm, which acts as a general interface for the other modules, but you did NOT update the modules! ( And still haven't... :) ) This is what matters here. To be more specific, you haven't updated the sub module ID3v2.pm which does the actual tagging work for flac2mp3.pl. It is still v0.9708 (your rev# 29, September 2006). I believe this is why it could be of general interest to know about this solution. Many flac2mp3 users have been seeing the UTF-16 related problems. (Not all, because - from what I have experienced - it also depends on the tagging software and configuration.)
