How are you applying ReplayGain, i.e. what software? I believe you can apply track gain without it affecting existing album gain tags. Do a test on a few files first to make sure this is correct.
If so, just apply track gain to all files. Then the random ones without album tags will get track gain tags as well, and select "Smart Gain" in SlimServer to use album gain first, then track gain if album gain tags aren't found or if tracks are not being played as part of a whole album. -- Mark Lanctot Ben Klass: "I won't even eat a pre-7.0 meal.
