Real = Sys+User
So it's more something like 2sec/100Mo let's say 2.5sec/100Mo (for this
calculation, I prefer to use Mo instead of songs as songs length vary
with styles and formats)

For a 500Go library, it represents 12.500 seconds. It's 3-4hours
Not too bad I think, furthermore, many formats has this music data hash
embedded and MP3 format which hasn't this hash produce much smaller
files.

Can I transform a little your additions this way:

To summarize things (critics/adding welcome):

1. metadata shouldn't be managed at SC level
(only made available to SC with customscan for example see '5')

2. metadata shouldn't be managed at the media files level
(to permit format conversions, multiple formats handling, file formats
limitations)

3. a way for metadata to survive copy/rename must exist
(several solutions like hash reference or xml file association)

4. a way to easily manage metadata should/must exist
(graphical, with a lot of ergonomics design to limit data input, and
possibly data source import like freedb, amazon, etc)

5. SC should be able to access the metadata for browsing/searching
purpose
(be it by export from metadata holder to SC or by direct reading of the
metadata by SC)

6. metadata should be used to tag files
(for compatibility with standard software/hardware)
