You can't just say "here are the options" to use. It's matter of preference and end use of the Mp3 files as to which options are desirable. Maybe he _wants_ replaygain. Maybe he only needs -V 4 or -V 5 quality/bitrate. As to the overall time... LAME encoding can be slow, which is why I find using a script like this to be much more desirable than encoding to both Flac and Mp3 when ripping a CD.
