I've used Max for a few years with a Mac Mini G4 and had good results. If you use the " CD Paranoia " setting and Error Correction you will achieve high quality rips. One potential problem is the tagging function. I've been using a small program that the developer of Max has available on the Forums section of the home page which allows you to get tagging info from iTunes. I've used it a number of times and it works well.
