Hi there. If you search around the forums you will find a wealth of threads with all kinds of discussions about this issue (including whether the current Squeezecenter logic is the best solution). There are a number of possible solutions but which is best may depend on how you like to search and play your music.
First thing to check is do you have compilation behaviour switched on in Squeezecenter "Group Compilation Albums together"? You may need to do a clear and rescan after switching it on for Squeezecenter to do this. It shouldn't need a specific tag, but if you're willing to add on, it is probably the simplest suggestion I can make. You can add a COMPILATION=1 tag to your compilation albums. Tag & Rename will do this, as will and decent full featured tagger like mp3tag (forum favourite) or foobar. MusicBrainz Picard will do it automatically if you want to use that to analyse your music.
