As Mark and others have said, DISCNUMBER won't work for what you want to achieve. You could use a custom tag (which would be the most "proper" solution, but wouldn't necessarily work in programs other than SC) or you could utilise one of the other tags like Genre.
If you're not using GENRE tags to navigate your library, this tag will accept Genre=1, Genre=2 for each disc in your library, and you could then navigate by Genre view. -- Siduhe Who am I on 'LAST.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/siduhe)?
