I agree, no way would I use them.  It makes everything harder and less
compatible. Single files with good tags is the way to go. Just a folder
for every album and that way you can use anything for organizing your
library.  At one time I think it was the only way to be able to burn a
gapless album, but that doesn't apply anymore.  So no need for them and
they will just cause you problems with programs.
