Interesting problem. I recently switched from Windows to Linux for serving, and have noticed something similar. My feeling is that the problem is possibly only the terminal emulator itself. For example, taking my personal test album for all things non-latin (Sigur Rós - Takk) I see everything as it should be:
In the original windows directory when it's ripped On the linux server viewed via samba In SC7 when looking at the file path On the SB3 and SBC when looking at file details The _only_ place I see garbage is in putty, and to be frank I use that little enough that I don't care. (Actually, I just tried and setting UTF-8 in putty fixed it, but broke things which use ansi art like ethstatus). -- radish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ radish's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=77 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51539
