I've always beleived it should be the default, not because it's right but because it's compatable. Why not go with the flow and acceptability in the real world. It would make it work with the majority of people and thats what it's all about when you are trying to get people to use your equipment and programs. Make it easy. Let go of ego or whatever is holding it back. It's really no big deal I think.
