Don't dispare! Be brave!
First of all which version of dbPowerAmp are you using? It is indeed
different products but assuming that you want to play the FLAC result
through SC and Duet you in fact only need the "Ripper". The binary is
called "CDGrab.exe" mine is version 13.0.0.0. It will rip and convert
on the fly. As long as you abstain from ripping to MP3s and/or using
the "All Media Guide" or MusicBrainz you should not need to register or
pay anything (FreeDB is excellent for me and, ehm, free!) but you might
want to "thank" the authors by sending in some money anyway. But what
you do need is the FLAC codec from Illustrate's page, I did not get
anything else working. But you said you already got that.

I am not interested and do not use the buildin player. Instead I
rip/convert the files directly to the folder where SC can find them. In
my case on a seperate media server running GNU-Linux (Ubuntu). The files
will not appear immediately in SC library but you can browse to the
location using the Music Library/Music Folder. To listen to the music I
use the SB3 exclusively. (Who needs yet another not to fancy player on
their pc, honestly)

What is very nifty is the build in scanner function. So what I do when
a new CD was delivered on the doormat is: yot them in the CD-ROM
player, let dbPoweramp start up and read the freeDB entries and make
the necessary changes and start ripping, put the booklet in the scanner
and scan the cover.

(In the mean time I take apart the jewel box to transfer everything to
flexible plastic covers from www.cdsoftcover.com)

Once I found out to ignore dbPowerAmp Batch Converter, dbPowerAmp Music
Converter and all other stuff in the dbPowerAmp programs folder it all
was very easy.
