Just tag away. There are no similar options for Flac files. Mp3tag only reads & writes Flac tags (Vorbis comments) in Flac files. I've seen EAC stupidly add id3v2 to Flac files, but you can be certain that dbpoweramp only ads the correct type of tag.
When in doubt, though, just make a copy of an album or a few albums, and experiment on the copies. Screw them up, start all over again, keep experimenting until you've got it right.
