I know that many people think dBpoweramp is a great product, and say so,
to the point of 'annoying'
(http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51320&page=2) some
other forum members, but I just have to put in my 2 cents. A couple
years back there was a thread on 'What's your MP3 workflow'
(http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26804), where I and
others outlined the many steps we took to rip/encode/tag/etc our CDs.
At that time 'my workflow'
was:

> 9) Copy MP3s to laptop music directory, and read into iTunes
> 10) Copy MP3s to mp3 folder on LinkStation
> 11) Every so often backup LinkStation to external USB hard drive

Now, steps 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8 are all done in one shot with
dBpoweramp. For step 4 I set Artistsort for FLACs and MP3s at the same
time, still with MP3tag (if anyone knows how to set Artistsort in
dBpoweramp, please speak up!). Tag cleanup is rarely needed because of
the collection of databases that dBpoweramp uses, and uses
*intelligently*. And yeah, I still need to copy the files into the
right places myself (steps 5, 9, 10, 11), although I could of course
rip directly into those storage places instead.

I've only ripped ~10 or so CDs since getting dBpoweramp, but it was $36
very well spent. Wish I had done it before ripping most of my collection
3 years ago. Highly recommended.
