Thanks erland. Is there something your plugins can not achieve :) I'll have a look, and I'm confident it will work splendidly. The only but, and this is not a critisisim towards your plugins, is that I'm trying to use as few 3. party plugins as possible. Despite all the cool stuff they do, they often comes at the cost of more time maintaining, more resources used, and last but not least the uncertainty related to (future) compatibility etc. Anyway I'm sure its a lot worse for you, just had to get it of my chest... For this particular problem a hack could be to write a plugin for Picard that saved the mtime (and ctime) prior to writing the tags and reset them after tagging using 'touch' or something like that. > > Probably not, they are still talking about discarding the whole > database.
