I am added a section to VortexBox that allows users to mirror their FLAC
library into mp3. This is useful for iPods and other music players that
don't support FLAC and have limited space.

I am using Lame to do the encoding but I see it has a lot of different
options. It's not as simple is selecting the Bit Rate. I see there are
options for ABR or VBR etc. Some users want smaller files and some want
the highest quality mp3s available.

My goal is to...

1. Allow users to set as few parameters as possible in a GUI menu to
avoid confusion. Just one drop down to select bit rate would be ideal

2. create mp3s that are playable on any hardware. I don't want to use
some nonstandard encoding scheme that doesn't work on some players.

What options should I give users and what command line switches should
I use for Lame?
