Thank you both. Something that as of yet I have not come across on these forums (although it is probably to be found here many times over) is that I can 're-tag' a file and/or multiple files in Windows by right-clicking on a given file or group of files and using the "edit ID Tag" feature (presumably from dBpoweramp?) to sort out a messy library. Also, although I don't have a particularly large collection (60 GB or thereabout) I have found that just keeping a careful watch over my designated music folder and not worrying so much about genre, artist, year, etc., has made life with squeeze center much easier to bear (no need to re-scan a library every time an album or two is added for instance). Early on, having spent much more time than I could ever have anticipated working with (and at times seemingly against) squeeze center-squeezebox I have since made peace with some of its quirks and really must admit that it is a a wonderful product that can add real joy (via music of course) to one's daily life. Long live Squeezebox!
