Appologies if this has been asked before, a search didn't bring anything obvious back.
I'm completing the process of re-ripping my CD collection into FLAC, and I'm left with the compilation albums to do. For the MP3 based library (now just used by my iPod), I simply set the artist to "Various" and left it at that. Now I'm using the Group compilation albums together option which on one hand is working exactly how I'd expect it to, and on the other it isn't. Tracks are ripped to FLAC using EAC and tagged with MP3Tag in EAC the Various Artists check box is used. When ripped by this method, the compilation CDs are indeed listed under "Various Artists" in the library, which is what want. However an entry for the album is also displayed under the individual artist, which I don't want. It only does this for artists that I have other albums by, it does not add an artist entry where no other albums extist. For instance, on a compilation CD is a track by Aerosmith and a track by Will Smith. Since I have other albums by Aerosmith the compilation CD is listed under both "Various Artists" and Aerosmith, but no artist entry for Will Smith is generated.
