Thanks for that wowo - rings a bell and will give it a shot tonight. When you say make a backup do you mean make a back up of the tags and/or configuration info of some sort? My library is massive (over 200gb in total) so making a backup of the actual tracks would be cumbersome but if you're speaking from experience that all can go belly-up, it might be worthwhile.
