>Setting COMPILATION=0 removes them >from Various Artist but the album is relisted under ALL Track Artists. > Setting COMPILATION=0 is almost always a very bad thing to do. You need to figure out why you haven't got an Album Artist tag for your FLAC files.
>The solution for me is entering a new extended tag ALBUMARTIST in >mp3tag. >In mp3tag I do see an Album Artist tag with FLAC files in the tagger >and the columns. in Extended Tags it's listed as BAND!!! SBS supports a custom tag called either "ALBUM ARTIST" or "ALBUMARTIST". In Mp3Tag, you can ensure you are setting the custom tag by adding a column called "Album Artist" and set the value to "%album artist%", and also the field to "%album artist%". >The option in server settings to toggle TPE2 as Band or Album Artist is >not working on FLAC (which is logical but confusing). Maybe this option >should also translate BAND to ALBUMARTIST for FLAC tags. FLAC is easy - ALBUM ARTIST is Album Artist, and BAND is Band. id3 v2.3 tags are confusing, as most tags are stored in special tag names (called frames). TPE2 is such a frame, and it's intended purpose is for representing BAND/ORCHESTRA. But it is often used to store ALBUM ARTIST. The setting for TPE2 only has meaning for id3 tags. Are you sure your FLAC files only have FLAC tags, and not also id3 tags? _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
