Hi I need some good advice .

I bought an album on the womad shop, and for some bizzare reason the
lossles alternative is ALAC ?

Ok then I used soundconverter and recoded as FLAC ok, not.

On some of the songs I get a short burst of static at the end of the
song.

Then I played the m4a file Exaile and I got the burst there to ?
Now one would think that there is a problem with the file.
But then i thought about it, all of these linux programs are probably
using the same "libraries" or what its called in the background.

The I p2p the whole album to a friend with a MAC and he recoded the
files to FLAC with MAX.

And the result error free playback ?

So is ALAC handling in Ubuntu fundamentally flawed or is there a fix or
a good workaround ?
