I was trying to show it was possible. Whether it's -practical- is a valid question.
I see a use for it in making a custom display. For example, I have a display where I show the track count in an alternative format. Instead of showing 5/12, I show 12:5 on the display. My reasons for that probably aren't worth talking about. > Squeezebox Server doesn't read a track count from any tags, and it > doesn't store a track count in the database. It reads the tracknum tag verbatim and stores it. If the tracknum tag is in the "5/12" format discussed above, then Squeezebox Server stores the track count in its database. I trust you already know this, and I also take your point that it doesn't store it by itself. I'm curious if you store your track data in the X/YY format, or just X format, or not at all? In your scenario you might want to know that your own tracks four and fifteen from that album and that the album has 18. Maybe not. -- Danny8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Danny8's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=27606 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69543 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
