Don't take the word "album" too literally here. It is just the title of
the collection from where the track originates, which could be an album,
a single, or a zip file from a file download. Just like a "song" can
also be a spoken word performance, a field recording of a thunderstorm,
or any other non-musical audio.
To distinguish between albums, singles, etc., you could use the
MUSICBRAINZ ALBUM TYPE tag ("single", "ep", "album", "compilation", or
whatever).
