Hi, you all. I have a hige classical music library, all tagged quite well. But there are some scenarios which are giving me headaches.
For example, I have a 9 CD Set, called "Liszt - Piano Works". The artist is Jorge Bolet. For most of the time, these are solo piano pieces, but on two cd's, there is the London Symphony Orchestra with two different conductors involved. The solo piano tracks I tagged like this: ALBUM: Liszt - Piano Works (Bolet) ARTIST: Jorge Bolet ALBUM ARTIST: Jorge Bolet COMPOSER: Liszt Now, there are the tracks on CD#2 and CD#9 where the London Symphony Orchestra is involved. On CD#2 the conductor is Sir Georg Solti, and on CD#9 the conductor is Iván Fischer. These tracks I tagged like this: ALBUM: Liszt - Piano Works (Bolet) ARTIST: Jorge Bolet, London Symphony Orchestra, Sir Georg Solti and Jorge Bolet, London Symphony Orchestra, Iván Fischer ALBUM ARTIST: beeing the same each. COMPOSER: Liszt When I browse this album (either by artist or by album), I get three different entries. One with Bolet alone, the other two with the orchestra and the two dfferent conductors. So I just cannot play the whole album in one piece. The track numbers are starting with 1 on the first CD and end with 80 on CD 9. The DISC NUMBER tag is also set correctly. I would like to have one single entry here, without giving away the information on the Orchestra and the Conductor. I know there's a tag called CONDUCTOR, but I use my music library also with WinAmp on my PC and with iTunes on my iPod. WinAmp doesn't know of the CONDUCTOR tag for example. Did you make up some custom tags like ORCHESTRA to be read by the Custom Browse plugin? What might be the most elegant solution without re-structuring my whole library? Thanks!
