+1 HDCD is getting old technology so DAC's supporting it migth not be top notch in other areas , there are better fillters out there than the circuits from that era ? Can actually 100% of the HDCD processing be reversed in software ? The gain stuff i get (24 bit) but is it not something more re fillters and stuff ?
