Even better would be not to fetch these tags in the first place.  Using EAC, I 
don't need to automate these steps, because it doesn't fetch them (or pass on 
to FLAC encoder to store in tags).

With dBPoweramp ripper, I had to mess around for a while in various places (not 
particularly easy to discover), in order to configure it to only include tags I 
was interested in.  i.e. I don't want lots of unnecessary tag data such as disc 
number, record label/publisher, copyright, etc.

I think it wasn't storing id3 tags in the same format that I have configured 
the rest of my library in either.  I use id3v2.4 UTF-8.  Although I usually rip 
to FLAC and convert to mp3.
