install mp3tag. open all the singles in your active window. change the album name for all to something like "CD Singles". Change the "album artist" for all to "Various Artists". add a compilation tag with a value of "1" with no quotes (select all files, right click, choose extended tags, add the compilation tag). Leave all the individual artists alone (they will still show up).
