To prepare for the future when we get high quality metadata automatically from online services, we now like some help from people which have a collection with good tags.
Install and run the following application on your collection: http://acoustid.org/fingerprinter You will need to get an API key to run it, just click on the button in the application to get your key. The application is developed by Luká Lalinský and will calculate fingerprints of your music and submit it to the central open source based server also developed by Luká. The plan is that this will eventually make it possible to automatically match your music with Musicbrainz and then we can use this to retrieve additional metadata automatically. The application doesn't modify your music file it only reads them and calculates a fingerprint and submits it to Luká central server. If you know your collection contains a lot of incorrect tags, we appreciate if you can select to only run the fingerprint application on the folders where you know the tags have decent quality. Data is needed both from people with musicbrainz tags and people without musicbrainz tags.
