required? not for me. not for many people. and i'm not trying to open that up, b/c while i disagreed with it, i was more than prepared to live with it; it was the side effects you describe below, that were a result of it, that i was trying to address and getting NOWHERE on, and still, after X amount of months, still getting nowhere on. you would think Andy would address the problem instead of addressing me. if i seem like i am against the diacritics fix, its much more so b/c of that than b/c of the diacritics issue itself.
