Sorry to bump a (somewhat) old thread but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to do the reverse of this.
I rip to FLAC using XLD on the Mac (awesome app, by the way). I drag and drop high-res cover art into the XLD window just before ripping and it embeds the art into each FLAC as it rips it. Unfortunately I don't see a way in XLD to automatically save a cover.jpg or folder.jpg as well so I've just ripped 500+ CDs to FLAC with only the embedded cover art. I can load the cue sheet for each ripped album back into XLD, right click on the album cover and choose to save it to file that way, but the thought of doing that 500+ times is not a pleasant one. So, anyone have any ideas on how to automate it somehow? Seems like a script that looks at track 1 (or the first FLAC file in a given folder), extracts the artwork from the vorbis tag and names it cover.jpg (and/or folder.jpg) would be feasible. Unfortunately I don't know how to script so just wondering if something like this already exists (I'm willing to pay for an app too)--preferably on a Mac but I have a Windows box too so either way. Any ideas would be welcome.
