squeezeboxes are 2ch they will not support discrete 6ch in any file format.
Touch supports up to 2ch 24bit 96kHz Reciver supports up to 2ch 24bit 48kHz That is native playback. the Squeezeboxserver software is capable of transcoding files on the fly. so any 2ch file will work for example 2ch 24/96 flac file will be transcoded to 24/48 before sent to a reciver. So your problem is really how to downmix this 6ch music to 2ch.
